Ocean Freight

Sea Freight & Ocean Shipping to Nigeria

Full-container and less-than-container ocean freight with competitive rates, reliable schedules, and full visibility port to port.

Sea freight is the most economical way to bring goods into Nigeria in volume. Flaming Integrated Logistiks arranges full container loads (FCL) and shared container space (LCL) from major ports worldwide into Lagos, then clears and delivers the cargo.

We help you pick the right container, compare carriers and sailing schedules, and get the documents right before the vessel sails, so the container can be cleared quickly once it is discharged.

What's included

FCL: 20ft, 40ft and 40ft high-cube containers
LCL: pay only for the cubic metres you use
Carrier and sailing comparison
Bill of lading and export documentation at origin
Clearance at Apapa, Tin Can or Lekki Deep Sea Port
Container haulage to your warehouse

Into Apapa, Tin Can and Lekki Deep Sea Port

Lagos has three main container gateways: Apapa, Tin Can Island and Lekki Deep Sea Port, which opened in 2023 to serve larger vessels. The port your cargo uses affects clearance time, haulage cost and congestion, so we factor it into the routing from the start.

Every day a container stays at the terminal after its free days adds shipping line demurrage and terminal storage charges. Having Form M, PAAR and permits ready before arrival is the most effective way to avoid them.

Frequently asked questions

How long does sea freight from China to Nigeria take?+

Port-to-port sailings from China to Lagos commonly take around 30 to 45 days depending on the carrier and transhipment, plus time for loading at origin and clearance in Lagos.

When should I choose LCL instead of a full container?+

LCL usually makes sense for smaller volumes, roughly under 13–15 cubic metres; beyond that, a 20ft container is often better value. We compare both for your shipment.

What is demurrage?+

Demurrage is the daily charge from the shipping line once a container exceeds its free days. Terminals also charge storage. Clearing quickly is the best way to avoid both.

Which port in Lagos will my container arrive at?+

That depends on the shipping line and service: Apapa, Tin Can Island or Lekki Deep Sea Port. We tell you before shipment and plan clearance accordingly.
